My Favourite Must-Have Granola

Share this:

I’ll be honest. I haven’t been a huge granola or cereal fan for a while now. Ever since I cut out dairy from my diet, I just haven’t been interested in yogurt parfaits or just plain cereal and milk. Bad memories from getting sick off of yogurt and milk. It’s kind of like when you get food poisoning and then you’re scared to ever eat that same food again.

But after years of not going anywhere near yogurt, I decided to try a coconut yogurt parfait with fresh berries and granola. Enter – Nature’s Path Organic.

If you’re Canadian, you might be aware of the weekly promotions Superstore offers. Spend $250 or more before tax and receive a free gift! Well boy, did I pick the perfect week to stock up on groceries! My “prize” (or consolation really) for spending so much was a free box of Nature’s Path Organic goodies including oatmeal, granola, breakfast bars, cheese flavoured nacho chips and a box of cereal. The best part is, it’s all ORGANIC.

I got two flavours of granola in the box – Honey Almond and Dark Chocolate & Red Berries from their ‘Love Crunch’ line. Let me tell you, both of these flavours are LEGIT. I’ve added both of these to my vanilla coconut yogurt and wow. Like that’s really all I can say!

As some of you know, I am also a Vista Magazine brand ambassador. Meaning, I get to test out healthy food and personal care products (only those that I choose to support), and then share my thoughts and experience on social media.

I was lucky enough to be sent 3 flavours from the Love Crunch line by Nature’s Path Organic – Dark Chocolate & Red Berries, Dark Chocolate & Peanut Butter, and Dark Chocolate Macaroon. I really can’t even tell you which is my favourite because they are all AMAZING. But I will try to break down each flavour as best as possible!

Honey Almond

My dad, who is now a self-proclaimed yogurt and granola connoisseur, absolutely loves this flavour. After he read about Monsanto’s glyphosate residue on most commercial granola and cereal brands like Quaker, General Mills, Nature Valley, etc., (read that post here) he made the conscious switch to Nature’s Path Organic. This flavour is one of his top choices.

One serving, half a cup, of this granola has pretty decent macros. There is some added sugar, which I’m not stoked about, but I’d rather a little extra sugar than glyphosate residue. However, there are 4g of beneficial fiber in every serving and it’s an excellent source of omega-3s. What I love about this product is that it is certified organic, certified non-GMO, certified gluten free and kosher!

Love Crunch Dark Chocolate & Red Berries

This granola is so rich in flavour with organic Fair Trade dark chocolate, organic dried coconut, and organic freeze dried berries. One serving is 250 calories. This flavour contains soy and oats, so be careful if you have an intolerance to those, and it may contain milk, tree nuts, wheat and peanuts.

However, if you have no intolerances or allergies, I definitely recommend trying this flavour out. It’s certified non-GMO, certified organic and kosher, which is awesome! Get your first bag here

Love Crunch Dark Chocolate & Peanut Butter

If you’re a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup fan, this is the granola for you. It literally tastes like a chocolate peanut butter cookie. One serving of this granola is 270 calories and contains 7g of protein. Again, it’s certified organic, certified non-GMO and kosher. The chocolate, peanut butter and roasted peanuts are all Fair Trade too.

I love love love this flavour and I think you should try it too (unless you have allergies of course!). I couldn’t find the granola online, but here’s the cereal version.

Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon

Okay, I may have saved the best for last. This flavour literally gets better with every bite. Chunks of dark chocolate and dried coconut shreds make the perfect pair with this granola. One serving gives you 4g of beneficial fibre and 15% of your daily value of iron.

Again, this granola is certified organic, certified non-GMO, Fair Trade and kosher! If I had to choose just one flavour to keep out of the four that I’ve tasted, it would be this one, hands down. See if you love it as much as I do.

My Review

Overall, I love this brand and their products. I’m definitely hooked.

I really like that their products are organic, non-GMO, kosher and Fair Trade. What’s also cool about the Love Crunch line, is that they started the Bite4Bite program. According to the narrative on the back of the bag, Arjan and Rimjhim, two of the founders, decided to give back to the community. They decided that for every bag of Love Crunch sold, the company would donate an equal amount of food (or cash) up to $1 million per year to Food Banks Canada.

I really love supporting businesses who give back and share their success. I also love supporting Canadian businesses, and businesses with a good product. Nature’s Path Organic really does fit all the requirements. If these flavours that I’ve mentioned don’t entice you, or if you want to check out the cereals and bars that the company also offers, click here.

As always, I love sharing my favourite health and wellness finds with you guys. I hope you try out some of these flavours. Let me know which ones you’ve tried and what you think!
